Many building departments in Northern Michigan now require a “Manual J” to demonstrate anticipated heating and cooling loads of a home or building, and recommend the capacity of HVAC equipment needed. Midwest Supply offers preparation of a Manual J as a complementary service for customers purchasing supplies and equipment from us. Please provide a scaled and detailed copy of the building plans and elevations, including compass orientation of the building siting, insulation values, and any other relevant details such as energy-efficient window specs.

This service is provided in order to help our customers select, purchase, and install properly sized refrigeration equipment such as condensing units, evaporators, and expansion valves. Often called a 'Manual D,' this complimentary service provides our clients with an efficient layout that incorporates the basic principles of good HVAC design, bidded down to the last register grille. Please provide a blueprint of the home in order to help us design an affordable ductwork system that results in energy efficiency, low operating costs, and maximum comfort and indoor air quality.
